Harpenden Round Table - Help at NOAH in Luton
|
Three members of Harpenden Table & Circle went across to the NOAH project in Luton (http://www.noahenterprise.org), which among other things, provides a hot meal in the middle of the day for people who really need it (price 80p for two courses). They where there from 12pm till 2.30pm lead by a beautiful person,
Marie Marie was working her 14th day on the trot covering for another helper who was on holiday. She had prepared the food to feed 60 people and needed our help to plate it, service it, make some tea, butter some bread and do the washing up. It was a well oil machine and we provided a decent meal for some people of all ages who obviously need some help at this point in their lives. We worked nonstop for the 2.5 hours but always in a relaxed way, no threat from the diners, no difficult tasks, just a grateful welcome for taking part.
A thoroughly fulfilling two and a half hours!
